Welcome Back Readers: Book Reviews, My WIP, & Social Media Building

tietea

Introduction: Welcome back readers for this week blog for the month of February. This year is almost approaching spring and I wanted to give another update and write about my current book reads, and my WIP that I am so excited to share with you all. My last blog had lots of readers and I wanted to thank you all for reading and I hope you all subscribe and sign up for my blog for future updates. I mainly post about writing topics, my current writing situation, books, hobbies and my passion for crafting and creating things.

The Against Us: In The Making

This is a picture of my notebooks that I had used to write my first novel. Them Against Us used to be in notebooks. Lol go figure right? I know I am not the only author who writes with notebooks first, but it works for me. I mostly write while I have free time at work or at the library. I would write several chapters then would type it on the computer later on. It works because sometimes you can brainstorm on what you want to write before you transfer it to the computer. Many folks would be like, "Naw, I'll rather just type it." And that is all good but this helps my out a lot. When I come out with my next book, it will be the same I am currently using notebooks to write my novels.

My WIP Progress:

My Current WIP is going good. I am still working on it and again it's a process because I do not write 24-7 and I do have a son who needs lots of attention. I also work so I am to balance it out. I finally was able to do a table of contents on one of my books because it is a non- fiction book. I am so excited and is glad that I am almost done with it. I am also still working on my non-fiction book as well and it is still in the making but sometimes life get in the way and I do get a little side-tracked. Lol notice I said a little side-tracked.

Ok, I can't help it so I have been watching some movies and videos on recipes. Why? because I Ama huge foodie and love to make some new foods. As long as it is not too hard because I absolutely hate challenges. Yes, I run from challenges. I will write about the food in the next few paragraphs. But I am also trying to come up with a name for my next novel. All of my foster boys series novels will have different book titles. At first I was going to create my titles similar but I changed my mind. Anyway, I am hoping. HOPING that I am finally done with my non-fiction book in March or April.

New Recipe That I Tried: Chicken Thigh Mushroom Rice

So I watch a lot of cooking shows and this stood out and it looked easy to make so I tried it and oh my god! It was good to eat. I already had most of the recipes at home I just needed Mushrooms and rice and it was awesome the only thing I did wrong was made too much rice but since my husband doesn't eat a lot of meat, it suits him well. This is just a picture of how it looks. I didn't take a picture of my own meal that I made so if you ever made this meal comment and post about it. Also, if you never have made this meal, try it you will like it. I also added some sour cream to make it creamy. You can also add some cream of mushroom to the meal I think it will make it taste very good. Make some mashed potatoes or eat it by itself. Either way you can't go wrong with this meal.

My Books That I Read

I read three books and I am still currently reading one of them. The first book is called,"Cackle"- By Rachel Harrison and it is by a new author that I have never heard of. The book is great about a girl name Annie who just got dumped by a guy name Sam who basically never loved her. She moved to a new town and met a witch name Sophie who helps her develop her own self- worth. She eventually realizes she has powers and gains more confidence. It was a good book to me. I would give it a ten because it kept me engaged.

The next book is called, "The Replacement Wife"- by Darby Kane. I had read her first book called, Pretty Little Wife and it was a thriller type of book about a woman name Elisa who believes that her brother in law is a serial killer. It also had me engaged and glued to the book. If you had not read the book, go out and get it.

The third book is called, "Cherish Farrah"- by Bethany C. Morrow and it is a book that I have not completed yet. It is a teenage coming of age type of book about black teen girls who are rich and one of them is name Cherish and the other is name Farrah and Farrah's parents lost their house so now she is staying at her best friend's house whose parents is white. It's interesting but I am still currently reading it. So go out and give this book a try

Book Club Meeting: February 2022

So this month I had to host and actually lead this month's book club. I have never led at a book club before and it was fun and I wish we had more time because we talked so much that the folks at the library was ready for us to go home. This book is a sad one and is basically a historical fiction book. It was about a child name Rill Foss who told the story of her her and her siblings got snatched by greedy orphan sellers. Back in Memphis Tennessee during the Great Depression times, many parents would be struggling to feed and care for their children. So many of them would end up in an orphanage. However, The characters get old and reunite by their granddaughter name Avery who finds out that her grandmother and another woman named May are actual sisters. So this book was a great topic discussion it was eight of us at the library and I'm hoping that more members show up.

Editing My Books: Social Media Progress

Firstly, let me remind everyone that I hate editing my books. I am still slowly for surely trying to make sure it is right but I hate doing it and I become lazy to the core. However, so things do help me. I am still staying focused on the final product so that it can be released. I have so many book and story ideas that I just need to hurry up and finish so that I can move on to the next book.

The good news is that I am building my social media and it am getting more followers and other writers to engage with and learn from. My Instagram has gotten a few more followers and I also follow many other writers and professionals so it is slowly building up. I am often open Twitter awhile lot and had one of my Facebook pages deactivated for awhile but I will re-open it back up soon.

That is all for this week, stay tuned for next time and check my website and also check out my Facebook author page on Facebook and my Twitter at @ TieTeanna Roddy.

Yah (God) bless you all and have a good week!! Toodles!!
